In 1950 she moved to support Tamborine, Queensland, with old salt McKinney a novelist and philosopher, which they then had their daughter Meredith born in the equal year. She was a founding member of the Wildlife economy Society of Queensland, on with Brian Clouston, David Fleay and Kathleen McArthur and was president from 1964 to 1976.
